Ennis-hill To Compete In Ratingen

24 June 2016

Jessica Ennis-Hill will compete in Germany this weekend at the Stadtwerke Ratingen Mehrkampf Meeting against a high quality field.

It is likely that this will be the last time Ennis-Hill competes in a full heptathlon event before travelling to Brazil.

The London 2012 Gold medallist will be up against some stiff competition in the next few days with German Caroline Schafer, who recorded a PB of 6557 in Gotzis last month, and Cuban Yorgelis Rodriguez.

During competition, Ennis-Hill will compete in the long jump and high jump competitively for the first time this year as she steps up preparations before the Rio Olympics.

Ennis Hill, who last year became the 2015 World Champion in her first major championship since the birth of her first child, returned to competition in convincing style at the Northern Championships two weeks ago winning the 100m hurdles, shot put and javelin whilst also running a solid 200m.
