European Athletics today announced Jessica Ennis as athlete of the month for May alongside Norway’s Olympic, world and European champion Andreas Thorkildsen.

Ennis has proven to be unstoppable ever since winning the Heptathlon world title in Berlin last August.

She continued her run of impressive form this year with a gold medal at the World Indoors and dominated proceedings at the IAAF World Combined Events Challenge meeting in Gotzis, earning a total of 6689 points. 

It is a testimony to her consistency that she has been voted European Athlete of the Month for the third time this year.

Ennis will compete in the hurdles, high jump and long jump at the Aviva European Trials and UK Championships on 25-27 June in Birmingham.
