Euro Cross Star Added To Antrim Field

Next month, the British Athletics Cross Challenge returns to Antrim, Northern Ireland and European U23 Cross Country champion Louise Carton of Belgium has been added to the list of athletes taking part in the Antrim International Cross Country. 

The meeting on Saturday 16 January is one of 12 IAAF World Cross Country permit meetings and will see the return of last year’s senior men’s champion Thomas Ayeko of Uganda. 

Additionally, a number of the British Athletics team which topped the medal table at last weekend’s European Cross Country Championships in Hyeres, France are expected to return and compete in the third leg of the Cross Challenge. 

Already announced for this meeting is 2013 World 10,000 metres bronze medallist Belaynesh Oljira of Ethiopia and team mate Etagegu Woldu who took bronze in the World Junior Cross Country last March in China.

Entries for races at Greenmount Campus from U13 to the senior age-groups are still open with paper entries closing of 1 January 2016 and online entries shutting on 5 January.
