European Champion Clubs Cup For Juniors

The European Champion Clubs Cup for Juniors (A Group) in Brno, Czech Republic, on 15 September, saw Great Britain and Northern Ireland represented in the men’s competition by Enfield & Haringey AC and in the women’s by Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC.

 

A day of exhilarating competition saw the men finish fourth with 96 points, behind Serbia (111), Russia (108) and Turkey (97). Whilst the women came in fifth with 81 points, behind Russia (128), Czech Republic (121.5), Serbia (89.50) and Croatia (85).

 

For Enfield & Haringey AC the most notable performance was a new UK Club Record of 40.83 in winning the 4x100m relay. The team was Antonio Infantino, Jordan Higgins, Aaron James and Luke Fagan.

 

Other performances included wins for Jordan Huggins, the youngest competitor in the field, in the 100m in 10.52, Luke Fagan in the 200m in 21.14 and Shaun Collins in the 3000m steeplechase in 9:31.82, a personal best.

 

For Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC, Rachel Arnheim came second in the Pole Vault with a personal best of 3.40, Jade Dodd was second in the Javelin with 48.12 and the 4x100m relay team came home in second place in 48.53 (Daniella Annon, Lauren Blackie, Amy Godsell and Emily Martin).
