European Speed Conference

Bookings are now open for the 2014 European Speed Conference, which will take place on 8th and 9th November at The Belfry in Birmingham.

Hosted by British Athletics and England Athletics, the conference forms part of the European Athletics Coaching Summit Series and this year brings together some of the world’s leading coaches and sports scientists to explore key themes important to the development of speed athletes. 

Amongst those confirmed as speaking are:

  • Malcolm Arnold – coach to Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth Champions, including former World Record holder in the 110mH, Colin Jackson.

  • Peter Aargard – renowned sports scientists and expert on training tendons for health and performance

  • Loren Seagrave – top US sprints coach whose Olympic champion athletes include Pauline Davis and Angelo Taylor.

  • Zig St Clair Gibson – Neuroscientist and expert on fatigue and its impact on performance

  • Lloyd Cowan – coach to Olympic and double World Champion Christine Ohuruogu.

  • Steve Fudge – coach to 2014 European Champions James Dasaolu and Adam Gemili, and IPC Athletics World and European Champion Jonny Peacock.

  • Benke Blomkvist – former long-term coach of women’s 60mH World Record holder, Susanna Kallur.
