Organisers of the European Athletics Indoor Championships have released around 200 additional tickets for the event to be staged at the National Indoor Arena in March.

There are around 100 additional tickets available for both Saturday 3^rd and Sunday 4th March, dates which had previously sold out at the box office. The tickets start at £15 for concessions and £20 for adults plus transaction fees.

The tickets will go on sale on Friday 26th January and are expected to be sold within days as previously these two days were thought to be sold out.

The Championships will see more than 600 athletes from around 50 countries compete over the three days and it will be the biggest sporting championships to be staged in Birmingham for nearly four years.

There is still a good selection of tickets available for Friday 2^nd March for those who miss out on the additional weekend tickets.

This opening day of the Championships will feature all five events of the women’s pentathlon where super Swede Carolina Kluft is expected to battle it out with Birmingham’s Olympic bronze medallist Kelly Sotherton. The men’s and women’s 60m hurdles finals will also take place on the Friday and tickets start at £6 for concessions and £12 for adults.
