FIVE ON TRACK IN TORUN

The penultimate leg of the IAAF World Indoor Tour takes place at the Copernicus Cup in Torun, Poland this evening.

After a consistent start to the season, setting times of 7.20, 7.21 and 7.22 in Paris and Eton so far, Dina Asher Smith (coach: John Blackie) takes to the track in Poland, going up against world medallist Marie-Josee Ta Lou in her 60m heat. Also lining up is Imani Lansiquot (Steve Fudge), the 20-year-old going in heat one alongside home favourite Ewa Swoboda, with the final later in the programme, should the British duo progress.

Negotiating the 1500m is Charlie Da’Vall Grice (Jon Bigg) who will face a tricky field including the experienced duo of Marcin Lewandowski and Jakub Holusa two to watch out for in a fast finish around the boards. But the Briton comes into the race in solid form, clocking 3:40.43 at the Millrose Games earlier this month.

Adelle Tracey (Craig Winrow) tunes up for the SPAR British Athletics Indoor Championships in the 800m whilst Elliot Giles (Jon Bigg) goes in the men’s equivalent taking on double world silver medallist Adam Kszczot who competes in front of his home crowd.

The Tour moves on to the finale at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow in ten days’ time on the 25 February 2018.

Action from the Torun Arena will be shown on a live stream which will be available on the IAAF’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, beginning at 17:00 (UK time).
