With the nation captured by the athletics action inside the Olympic Stadium in the past weeks, there are thousands of people looking to take their first steps into athletics in England.

Athletics clubs across the country are hosting Athletics Community Days to capture this interest and bring the legacy to life in their community.

These events are part of the national ‘Are you ready?’ campaign that has been supporting clubs to prepare for the demand the Games brings and clubs have registered over 600 events to take place from 12th-29th August.

An Athletics Community Day is the chance for clubs to open their doors to the community and give them a chance to get involved in some athletics at a fun and social event. Events will also bring whole clubs and communities together to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

With the support of England Athletics, clubs have been planning their events and are offering a wide range of activities from fun relays and mini Olympics to BBQs, Olympic record markers and coaching clinics.
