News arrives from the USA that Michael Green (Blackburn Harriers) has gone to the top of this year’s 10km rankings on the Power of 10 website, devised by UK Athletics and its governing partners to generate raised standards in every event in every age group in every region on the way to London 2012.

Green, who is currently based in Atlanta and is preparing to run in this year’s Flora London Marathon, clocked 29 minutes 31 seconds in winning the Charles Harris Run for Leukaemia 10km in Tucker, Georgia, on Saturday February 24.

He is the first UK runner under 30 minutes on the Power of 10 website this year but is still below UK target of 29:15.
