Sophie Hahn (coach: Joe McDonnell) and Morgan Lake (Eldon Lake) have been shortlisted in the top ten for the BBC young sports personality of the year award 2015.

Hahn enjoyed an incredible IPC athletics world championship, winning two gold medals and a silver medal. Her T38 100m gold was perhaps her finest moment as she sprinted away from the field to improve her own previous world record by almost four-tenths, clocking 12.60.

The Loughborough-based athlete was also part of the world record-breaking T35-38 4x100m relay team which won gold on the final evening of competition in Doha. Hahn anchored the team of Olivia Breen, Maria Lyle and Georgie Hermitage to the gold medal to claim her fourth world championships title. The 18 year-old added T38 200m silver to her collection earlier in the competition to further enhance her silverware collection.

Lake followed a stunning 2014 season with even more success in 2015, winning European junior high jump gold in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The multi-eventer additionally equalled her British junior record in the event, leaping 1.94m on three occasions this year.

Alongside her age-group success, the 18 year-old earned two call-ups to senior British Athletics teams, firstly finishing ninth in the European indoor championships pentathlon at the beginning of the year. On top of this, Lake achieved selection for the IAAF world championships in Beijing, competing in the high jump competition and just narrowly missing out on qualifying for the final.

The top three will be announced on Blue Peter and invited to the live event at the SSE in Belfast. The winner will be announced live on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year programme and the BBC Sport website on Sunday, 20th December 2015.
