Haworth Hobble To Host British Trial For Iau World Trail Championships

The Haworth Hobble on Saturday 11 March 2017 is to be the designated trial race for the British Athletics team ahead of the IAU World Trail Championships in Badia Prataglia, Italy, set to be held on 10th June 2017.

The Hobble, a regular Runfurther event for some time, consists of a 32 mile route which follows the Yorkshire Pennine paths and tracks from Haworth, over the moors to Calderdale, up Stoodley Pike and back to Haworth via Heptonstall and Crimsworth Dean.

Last year’s trial for the IAU World Trial Championships was held at the Highland Fling Ultramarathon, with Donnie Campbell and Beth Pascall the first male and female finishers respectively. At the 2016 World Trial Championships Pascall served as the second counter as the women’s team secured team bronze, and in 2017 the team will be looking to continue their strong from recent years at the event.
