Welsh Athletics, England Athletics, Scottish Athletics and Athletics Northern Ireland-registered athletes have access to a number of discounted spaces for the mass participation race at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, Cardiff 2016.

The world’s elite distance runners will be converging on Cardiff on Easter Saturday, 26th March 2016, to take part in the 22nd edition of the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. Visit cardiff2016.co.uk for more details.

While the race will be an important stepping-stone for many of the world’s best athletes towards the Olympic Games marathon in Rio 147 days later, it will also offer 25,000 runners of all ages and abilities the chance to compete in a mass participation race along the fast, flat and iconic course around the Welsh capital. The race is expected to sell out with thousands of local, national and international runners taking this unique opportunity to run in the footsteps of champions.

There are 500 discounted places available for members of Welsh Athletics and a further 500 for England Athletics, Northern Ireland Athletics, and Scottish Athletics. The discounted entry price is £49, a saving of £10 off the regular entry fee.
 
HOW TO CLAIM A DISCOUNTED SPACE

Registered athletes can secure their place by visiting the following link https://endurancecui.active.com/event-reg/select-race?e=15196453 which will go live on Wednesday 25th March, 9am, 24 hours before places for the mass race go on general sale.

Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so runners are being encouraged to act quickly to take advantage of this offer.  Once the 500 £49 spaces have sold out, the entry fee for members will be £54 (still a saving of £5 off the regular entry fee).
