Inaugural Officials Awards Launched

18 March 2010

In line with UKA’s Month of the Official, culminating in the UKA Officials Conference at the St Johns Hotel in Solihull on Sunday 18 April, UKA have announced a series of awards that will be presented to valued officials at the annual event.

The inaugural Official’s Official Awards are in recognition of the hard work, dedication and commitment that officials show on a weekly basis at clubs and competitions up and down the country, but crucially are nominated and voted for solely by officials themselves.

Awards will be nominated for by the official for the official in what UKA hopes will be embraced by the officials’ community.

Nominations are being received for the following categories;

The Officials’ Official – an award for the official that you most aspire to be like or has helped you in your development to become a better official.

Off Track Official – an award for the most knowledgeable and helpful endurance official.

Young Official – an award for the most improved young official, who you would like to see progress in the sport. Nominations for this award must be 25 years or younger.

"The Official Innovator" – an award for the most technologically innovative official.

Places are still available for the UKA Officials Conference, if you would like to register as a delegate, please click here.

Voting for the Officials Awards is now open, if you would like to vote for an official for the awards above, or would like to find out more about the Officials Awards initiative, click here.
