Ipc Grand Prix Heads To Italy

12 June 2015

A large contingent of British athletes are prepared for the eighth stop in the IPC Grand Prix series which takes place in Grosseto, Italy between 12-14 July.

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Libby Clegg (coach: Joseph McDonnell) will again team-up with Mikail Huggins in the T12 100m and 200m. This is the Scottish athlete’s first race since April and she will be looking for a strong performance ahead of the IPC World Championships which take place in Doha later this year.

Sophie Hahn (McDonnell), the 2013 T38 100m world champion, will double up in the 100m and 200m where she will race alongside fellow Briton Olivia Breen (Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo) who has been in PB form so far this year with a 200m best of 28.27.

Ben Rowlings (Job King) returns to the track after a series of personal bests recorded at the Daniela Jutzeler Memorial last week in the T34 100m, 200m and 800m. He will compete in all these events over the three day competition, with the addition of the 400m.

Mel Nicholls (King) will contest four events including the T34 100m, 400m, 800m and 1500m with IPC European double gold medallist Sammi Kinghorn (Ian Mirfin) also competing across four disciplines and Paul Blake (Robert Ellchuck) in the T36 100m and 400m.

2013 World F46 javelin champion Hollie Arnold (Anthony Hughes) will contest the event in the Italian city with Welshman Kyron Duke (Hughes) leading the line in the F41 shot put and F40-46 javelin.
