Everyone at UKA is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our former colleague John Nuttall.

John was a hugely accomplished endurance athlete, competing for GB at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and representing GB at track and field World Championships in 1993 and 1995 and World Cross Country Championships on five occasions.

A successful coach in retirement, he was a key part of the endurance set up that supported athletes into the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Leaving the UK in 2013 to join the prestigious Aspire Academy in Qatar, John also worked alongside his wife Liz McColgan Nuttall in supporting the developing talent at the Doha Athletic Club.

His loss is felt deeply by friends and colleagues here at UKA who worked alongside and knew John. Our thoughts are very much with his family and close friends at this time.
