Jones & Tait Complete Team Heading To Rio

29 July 2016

The British Paralympic Association (BPA) today announced that Beverley Jones (coach: John Parkin) and Carly Tait (Rick Hoskins) have been added to the ParalympicsGB team for Rio.

Both athletes were originally reserves for the athletics team. However, as a result of additional slots being made available to ParalympicsGB, they have now been added to the team that will compete at the Paralympic Games.

Discus thrower  Jones will compete at her fifth Games. She won a bronze medal at London 2012 in the F37 category. She will be joined by Stockport’s Tait who made her British team debut at this summer’s European Championships. She won double silver on that occasion in the T34 100m and 400m.

Today’s announcement takes the number of selected athletes to 258 from 19 sports.

Selected athletes are:

Carly Tait – T34 100m

Bev Jones – F37 discus
