UK Athletics today announced that there will be a Jumps International for Seniors, Under 23s, Under 20s and Under 18s at Uden, Netherlands on Saturday 4 August.

England Athletics can select one male and one female per event per age group (a maximum of 22 athletes). And Celtic athletes will be invited to compete as guests. The selections will be made on Sunday 29 July, immediately after the previous weekend’s Norwich Union World Trials and England Open Championships at the Manchester Regional Stadium.

The event, the return summer match of the Norwich Union Indoor International at Lee Valley during the winter, is designated an England Event Specific competition providing competition for developing athletes in developing events.

Michelle Dunkley, UK Athletics Senior Coordinator for Field and Combined Events, said: “The match is for athletes who are working towards World Class Performance levels as well as those who have already achieved them but are not in the Norwich Union Great Britain and Northern Ireland team for the IAAF World Championships to be staged in Osaka.”

“Athletes will be selected for this event for a specific purpose, and not simply on achievement of the entry guidelines. The top Senior and U23 at the NU World Trials will be selected providing the appropriate entry standard is achieved. Performance in key competitions including the Norwich Union England Under 20 Championships and UK Challenge JumpsFest will have a higher weighting for Under 18 and Under 20 selections, but decisions will also be based on current form.
