Landmark Figure Reached In Runbritain #clickyourclock Competition

30 January 2017

runbritain received their 70,000th handicap claimant last week, a landmark figure in the award winning #clickyourclock weekly competition.

Launched in 2010, the competition has been innovated over the last few years, and in March 2015 was transformed into the #clickyourclock competition. In just under two years, the number of people who have ‘clicked their clock’ has risen to the 70,000 figure last week.

runbritain’s revolutionary handicap scoring system is designed to give distance runners, of all levels, the ability to benchmark their progress and compare their results across a range of distances and terrains. The system rewards good performances but also factors in the degree of difficulty for slower courses as well as rewarding regular racing and so, to prevent your handicap from slipping you need to turn out regularly for races or parkruns.

The runbritain #clickyourclock competition won the European Athletics Innovation Award last year.

Ultra-runner Megan Lennox was the 70,000th claimant. You can read more on the runbritain website: http://www.runbritain.com/news/ultra-runner-megan-lennox-is-70000th-handicap-claimant?page=1&pagesize=7&from=&to=&range=Latest
