The moment will finally arrive on Friday morning at 10am inside the Olympic Stadium in London.

Team GB athletes will take the stage as day one of London 2012 track and field athletics begins.

The likes of Jessica Ennis (coach: Toni Minichiello), Dai Greene (Malcolm Arnold) and defending Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu (Lloyd Cowan) are the star attractions of the morning session.

The evening action will see Greg Rutherford (Dan Pfaff) and Chris Tomlinson (Frank Attoh) in action in the long jump qualification, as well as heats in the women’s 100m and men’s 1500m.

There are medals up for grabs too with Jo Pavey (Gavin Pavey) and Julia Bleasdale (Nic Bideau) aiming for podium finishes in the women’s 10,000m at 21:25. If Carl Myerscough secures qualification in the morning session in the shot put, the final takes place at 20:30.
