Mason And Danvers Continue To Impress

Nine British Olympians continued their summer season campaigns in Lausanne, Switzerland on Tuesday evening. Beijing medalists Germaine Mason and Tasha Danvers replicated their finishing positions from the Games, Mason was second in the men’s high jump with 2.32m and Danvers was third in the women’s 400m hurdles with 54.79.

 

Their respective events were won by Olympic champions Russia’s Andrey Silnov (2.05m) and Jamaica’s Melanie Walker (53.73). Olympic fourth-placer Lisa Dobriskey was third in a fast women’s 1500m, clocking 4:05.18 to Bahrain’s Maryam Yusuf Jamal’s winning time of 3:59.84.

 

Andy Turner won Race 2 of the men’s 110m hurdles in 13.54 (+0.9m/s), Allan Scott was two places back in 13.76. Nicola Sanders was third in Race 2 of the women’s 400m in 51.11, whilst Olympic finalist Sarah Claxton was 8th in the women’s 100m hurdles in 13.22 (-0.6m/s). In the men’s 100m, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey was 4th in Race 2 with 10.30 (+0.3m/s) and Simeon Williamson was three places back in 10.48.
