Star midweek performers were Jenny Meadows (Trevor Painter) with a return to top form in Rome with a 1:58.89 clocking over 800m which is her fastest outdoors this season and cements her position at the top of the Powerof10 rankings, while Kate Dennison (Steve Rippon) also equalled her 2010 outdoor best to stay at the top of the Pof10 rankings.

As the Diamond League continues to gather world class athletes and produce top performances; Marlon Devonish (Tony Lester) finished in sixth place over 200m to go third Pof10 recording 20.79 (0.5) behind Walter Dix (USA) who clocked a meeting record of 19.86.

Over one lap Michael Bingham (Ken Harnden) 46.04 (currently top Pof10) finished in fifth place with Jeremy Wariner (USA) taking the victory in a world lead of 44.73.

Andy Baddeley (Andrew Hobdell) showed a great improvement in his form clocking 3:35.50 to go top of the Pof10 rankings while finishing in 11th spot behind Augustine Choge (Kenya) 3:32.21.

In the 100mH Andy Turner (Lloyd Cowan) finished in fifth place 13.48 (0.9) with Will Sharman (George Maciukiewicz) in ninth 14.07 (both first and second Pof10) in a race won by Dayron Robles (Cuba) in 13.14.

Chris Tomlinson (Frank Attoh) recorded 7.79m (-0.4) in the long jump (currently top Pof10) for sixth place in a competition won by Dwight Phillips (USA) with a world lead of 8.42m (-0.8).

The women’s 800m was won by Halima Hachlaf (Morocco) in a world lead of 1:58.40 with Meadows in third just behind Janeth Jepkosgei (Kenya) 1:58.85 and Jemma Simpson (Mark Rowland) in fifth recording 1:59.58 which takes her to second Pof10. Fabiana Murer (Brazil) took the victory in the pole vault with a 4.70m clearance with Dennison in seventh place.

Goldie Sayers (Mark Roberson) threw 61.23m in the javelin (currently top Pof10) for seventh place behind winner Barbora Spotakova (Czech) 68.66m which was a meeting record.

Meeting Iberoamericano de Atletismo, Huelva, ESP June 8
British performers were out in force in Spain with many encouraging performances.

Robert Tobin (Todd Bennett) finished in fifth place over 400m recording 46.31 (already fourth Pof10) while Niall Brooks (Norman Poole) finished in second place over 800m recording 1:48.12 which takes him to top of the Pof10 U20 rankings and ninth in the senior rankings.

Tom Lancashire (Norman Poole) clocked 3:37.91 for fifth place in the 1500m to move to second Pof10.

In the women’s 800m Emma Jackson (City of Stoke) clocked an outstanding PB of 2:01.85 to move to third Pof10 ahead of Marilyn Okoro (Ayo Falola) 2:04.18 (currently ninth Pof10), who is taking a steady return to the track.

Emma Pallant (Mick Woods) clocked 4:23.37 in the 1500m for sixth place.
