There were mid-week PBs at the BMC run meetings held up and down the country which affected the Power of 10 rankings and the following were the highlights.

BMC Gold Standard Races, Watford 19 May
The 800m saw Gareth Warburton (Cardiff) record a fine PB of 1:47.38 to go to third on the Power of 10 standings with Richard Hill (Notts) showing a return to form in second place 1:47.99 which takes him to fifth.Top Junior in ninth place was Ronnie Sparke (Woodford Green with Essex Ladies U20) whose PB of 1:51.78 takes him to sixth on the U20 rankings.

The 1500m saw Richard Goodman (Shaftesbury Barnet U20) clock a nine second improvement on his PB with 3:45.77 to go third on the U20 Power of 10 rankings. In the ‘B’ race Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, Farnham & District U17) went to second on the U17 Power of 10 rankings with a PB of 3:55.38.

In the women’s two lap event Irish athlete Rose-Anne Galligan (Gloucester) ran the third fastest UK 800m this year with a PB of 2:04.01 and in second place Jessica Judd (Chelmsford U17) went to the top of Power of 10 rankings with a PB of 2:06.95 which is also the third fastest ever by a UK 15 year old. In the U15 age group Jasmine Finlay (Marshall Milton Keynes U15) went to second on the Power of 10 with PB of 2:12.84 in winning the ‘B’ race.

The women’s 1500m saw Emelia Gorecka (Aldershot, Farnham & District U17) win the race in a PB of 4:19.46 which takes her to the top of the Power of 10 U17 rankings and in eighth place was Sophie Riches (Chelmsford U15) who clocked a PB of 4:29.76 to go to the top of the U15 Power of 10 rankings which is the 11th fastest ever by a UK 14 year-old. www.britishmilersclub.com/ www.powerof10.info/

BMC Gold Standard Races, Trafford 18 May
In the men’s 800m European Junior medallist Niall Brooks (Sale Harriers Manchester U20) clocked 1:48.36 to go to the top of Power of 10 U20 rankings. In the ‘B’ race Jordan Bransberg (Skyrac U17) went to third on the Power of 10 U17 rankings with a 1:54.72 clocking.

The 1500m saw Jack Hallas (Wakefield U20) move to sixth on the Power of 10 U20 rankings with a PB of 3:48.89 clocking. www.britishmilersclub.com/ www.powerof10.info/

BMC Regional Races, Jarrow 17 May
Mark Shaw (New Marske U17) clocked a 1500m PB of 4:01.8 to go to ninth on the U17 Power of 10 rankings and in the ‘B’ mixed race Charmaine Porter (Jarrow & Hebburn U17) moved to seventh on the U17 Power of 10 with a PB of 4:38.6. www.britishmilersclub.com/ www.powerof10.info/
