Meeting AEA Classic de Montreuil, France, June 3

Eilidh Child (Malcolm Arnold) managed the poor conditions well to win the women’s 400mH in 55.83, beating former European Champion Vania Stambolova in the process.

There were also season’s bests for James Shane (Martin Brown), who clocked 3.42.50 in the 1500 and David Bolarinwa (Jonas Tawaih-Dodoo) who clocked 20.89 in the 200m, the later just outside the European U23 standard of 20.80.

European Athletics Outdoor Classic Meeting, Velenje, Slovenia, June 4

Richard Kilty (Linford Christie) clocked 10.23 over 100m to go second on the Power of 10, just two hundredth’s outside the World Championship B standard, the time equalling his personal best. Greg Cackett (Ron Roddan) was third in this race, clocking a season’s best 10.42.

In the men’s 400m, there was a British one-two, with Luke Lennon-Ford and Richard Strachan (both Christie) clocking SB’s of 46.38 and 46.62 respectively.

Gareth Warburton (Darrell Maynard) finished second in 800m to former Olympic, and reigning European Champion Yuriy Borzakovskiy, clocking 1.46.79, a season’s best which puts him 3rd on the outdoor rankings.

BMC Gold Standard Races, Stretford, June 4

In the 800m A race, Jordan Bransberg (Andrew Medley) took victory in a European Junior qualifying time of 1.48.82, which puts him second in the junior rankings. Close behind was Eliot Slade, who also went inside the qualifying mark for the second time this season, clocking 1.48.94.
