Alongside this, he is also a serving member of the Greater Manchester AA & UK League Committees and Chief Commentator for the British Milers Club. He has previously served on the UK Members Council for seven years as Coaches Representative. For the last three years, he has served on the England Athletics National Council and as a Board Member of England Athletics whilst remaining on the North West regional council.

President of the UK Members Council, Jason Gardener, said: “I welcome Mike to the UK Members Council, and wish him all the best in carrying out this significant role. I am pleased to have someone as experienced as Mike on-board.”

On his appointment, Harris commented: “I am delighted to be appointed as a Representative of Clubs Affiliated in England on the UKMC, and will do my utmost to ensure club athletics remains as the heartbeat of the sport. If we have a healthy club structure then the stars of the future will continue to emerge and I want to play my part in that.”
