NewPower Of 10 Partnership

25 March 2009

UKA have today announced a brand new partnership taking Power of 10 forward until 2013.

Athletics Data – who provide a range of statistical services to athletics, powered by the results collation service from Athletics Weekly – have been appointed to run the project from April.

As well as running the website, the partnership also includes the statistical support for competitions such as the popular McCain UK Challenge Series events, as well as to World Class Performance in addition to a results and statistics service for the UKA website.

Furthermore in 2009 the popular track website www.runtrackdir.com will be updated and relaunched for the sport’s use, and a new GB Team area will be launched as part of the UKA website providing the information covering GB teams at past major championships.

UKA’s Head of Marketing and Communications Claire Furlong said:

“The Power of 10 plays a vital role in the UKA strategy towards 2012, the statistics and other support provided by the project is essential to us and the whole sport.

“Working with Athletics Data allows UKA to ensure valuable resources within the sport are not being duplicated, and the value to the sport in updating the Track Directory website and the GB team reference area was an added bonus.

“The new website will be launched in April, and we are looking forward to an exciting time ahead with this new partnership.

“Finally, we would like to thank Umbra who have ran the project since 2006 for the work undertaken, which has given the sport such a strong platform upon which to build.”

Tim Grose – Founder of Athletics Data said:

“We are delighted that all the hard work that has gone into Athletics Data over the last four years is to be recognised in this way.   We look forward to working with race and event organisers to improve the quality of the results collection process in the sport.

“Athletics Data will of course remain a “not for profit” organisation throughout the period of the contract.”

The new website www.Thepowerof10.info will be online in April.
