Nottwil Set For High-class Racing

A number of Britain’s finest para-athletes will compete at the annual Daniela Jutzeler Memorial and Swiss Nationals in Nottwil for the IPC Grand Prix in Switzerland (26-29 May).

Paralympic, world and European champion Hannah Cockroft (coach: Jenni Banks) will race alongside world medallists and compatriots Mel Nicholls (Job King) and Kare Adenegan (King) in the T34 100m, 400m and 800m at the highly competitive meeting. 

World number two, three and four in the T33 100m Dan Bramall (Rick Hoskins), Toby Gold (Jenny Archer) and Andrew Small (Hoskins) will warm up for next month’s IPC Athletics European Championships in Grosseto by taking on world champion Ahmad Almutairi of Kuwait in a high quality line-up. 

IPC Athletics World Championships T53 200m silver medallist Mo Jomni (Jenny Archer) will fine tune his preparations for Grosseto in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m. He will face the returning Paralympic 100m gold medallist Mickey Bushell (Archer) in the 100m and 400m as the Weir Archer Academy athlete continues his comeback to the competitive scene. 

After a number of personal bests already this season, Richard Chiassaro (Banks) goes in multiple events in the T54 class as does Commonwealth and European medallist Jade Jones (Ian Thompson/Tanni Grey-Thompson) in the women’s equivalent.
