PB For Pozzi

7 May 2012

Another day and another personal best for Andy Pozzi (coach: Malcolm Arnold).

On day four of the London 2012 athletics test event, the 19-year-old clocked a time of 13.35 in the British University & College Sports Championships 110m hurdles final.

Less than 24 hours ago Pozzi recorded 13.52, achieving the UKA A standard along with training partner Lawrence Clarke (Malcolm Arnold) inside the Olympic Stadium.

He said: “I am really pleased with the race. I knew after my round of 13.52 that there was a lot more to come and I’m happy to get that. I think 13.3 is more reflective of where I thought I could run at this point in time.

“I am going to continue as I have been going. I’ve had a great year so far.”

Elsewhere, Mervyn Luckwell (Esa Utrianen) threw a distance of 80.60m in the men’s javelin – a UKA B standard and Zoe Derham (Derek Evely) recorded 62.92m in the women’s hammer in extremely wet conditions.
