Pupils at Huntingdon Junior School, Cambridgeshire were delighted to welcome Phillips Idowu to their school on Friday 25 April, after winning a competition through Aqua-Pura Champions in partnership with UK Athletics.

As Official sponsor of UK Athletics, Aqua-Pura have arranged for five athletes to visit schools across the UK, in the build up to the Beijing Olympics.

Phillips spent the afternoon introducing a group of excited 8 year olds and their teacher to the basics of triple jumping, signing autographs and answering questions ranging from his medal collection and hair colour to training regime and favourite colour!

The children presented Phillips with a huge good luck card for the Olympics, signed by all the pupils that took part in the athletics session, but it might not quite fit in his baggage for Beijing!

Class teacher at Huntingdon Junior School, Karen Delaney said:

"I will never forget the look of pure enjoyment on the children’s faces as they triple jumped with Phillips and raced him in the relay races. It truly was an honour to meet Phillips and have the opportunity to wish him luck at the Beijing Olympics. The day will stay with me forever and I know that the children feel the same."
