UK Athletics, and our colleagues at the Home Country Athletics Federations welcome the news that the Sports Minister Tracey Crouch has secured ministerial support to change the law on positions of trust to include sports coaches.

Both organisations have supported the NSPCC campaign for this change in the law, with the UK Athletics welfare team continually lobbying over a number of years.

We look forward to offering any assistance in the coming months to ensure this change in legislation can take place as quickly as possible as we continually work to ensure our sport is a safe environment for young people to participate.
