The final day of action at the IAAF World Indoor Championships is upon us with a host of British interest.

The men’s 1500m final contains two Brits; Jake Wightman (Geoff Wightman) and Chris O’Hare (Terrence Mahon). Wightman won his heat on Saturday morning in comfortable style much to the crowd’s delight, clocking a nifty 3:47.23.

O’Hare on the other hand faced a longer wait to see if he had made the final. After finishing fourth in his heat, he was left to wait to see if he was one of the fastest qualifiers. As it unfolded, he was the third of the three fastest qualifiers so will also line up in this afternoon’s final at 16:12.

After a professional heat run yesterday, Shelayna Oskan-Clarke (Jon Bigg) will go into her 800m final full of confidence. In what was a fairly scrappy contest but the WSEH athlete remain composed throughout to win her heat. She goes in that at 15:58.

Andrew Pozzi (Benke Blomkvist) and David King (James Hillier) will aim to reach the 60m hurdles final later in the afternoon, but will have to negotiate the semi-finals at the start of the programme. Pozzi looked in supreme form in last night’s heats, the fastest qualifier in 7.53, whilst David King was fourth in his heat.

Closing the championships in Birmingham will be the 4x400m relay teams. Great Britain and Northern Ireland have representation in both the men’s and women’s finals.
