Records Set At The Uk Youth Development League

7 May 2015

The first meetings of the UK Youth Development League were held on 18 April and 2 May, from Scunthorpe to Southampton. It was a record-breaking start to the competition as 11 new league records were set in the U20 and U17 age groups.

Some of the notable highlights in the lower age group (U17) included Ada’ora Chigbo (coach: Ken Holmes) setting a shot put league record of 14.77m and equalling the U17 high jump record after clearing 1.80m in Yate.

In the upper age group, Lina Nielsen (Frank Adams) set a league record of 54.38 in Stevenage last month. The Enfield and Haringey athlete has since improved her own personal best further to 53.58 last weekend which presents the possibility that the record could be improved further in the near future.
