The new runbritain Road Race Co-ordinator is Gavin Lightwood, who will commence in post on Monday 18th October.

Lightwood has worked as Events Manager for Glasgow Life for the past 18 months where his responsibilities included Race Director for the Great Scottish Run and Glasgow Women’s 10k. Prior to that he was a Partnership Manager at sportscotland, Course Director for the Edinburgh Marathon 2003-6 and the Venues Manager for the European and World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh in 2003 and 2008.

A former 2.27 marathon runner, he was also an IAAF Technical Officer at this year’s World Cross Country in Bydgoszcz.

"I’m looking forward to getting involved in all of the services that runbritain is delivering but especially in working with the road race organisers and licence officers in improving our range of support," he said. "This is a great time to be joining a brand that is looking to create year-round benefits to runners and race organisers.”
