Runbritain Update

22 October 2010

This weekend’s EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon (Sunday 24 October), with a record entry of 14,650, has played a major role in the success of runbritain’s online entry system which now has 175 road races – equating to around 60,000 runners – on board.

With a starting figure of around 20 events in January this year, the sign up rate has continued to rise at approximately four races per week throughout 2010.

“It has been really pleasing to see races of all sizes give runbritain’s at-cost race entry system a vote of confidence through 2010,” says runbritain MD, Geoff Wightman. “Race organisers now appear to be recommending it to each other as a reliable format that saves them money which can then be re-invested in their event. I would especially like to thank Birmingham City Council for being the first mega-sized race to use our system and wish their record field a great day’s racing this Sunday.”
