Sheffield Sold Out

26 January 2010

UKA can today announce that the  Aviva World Trials and UK Championships taking place in Sheffield on the second weekend of February, has sold out.

With the EIS  a hugely popular venue, and  hundreds of athletes competing for a place in the Aviva GB and NI team bound for Doha in March, competitors are well supported by their nearest and dearest who cheer them on through closely contented heats and finals over two days of fierce competition.

But you haven’t missed your chance just yet to watch world class athletics in the UK this winter. Top athletes travel to Glasgow this weekend for the Aviva International Match taking place on Saturday afternoon. With five countries battling it out to be crowned the winning team in 2010, stars from Germany, Sweden, The Commonwealth, USA and the Aviva GB & NI Tea will be putting on a high quality show. World Champion heptathlete, Jessica Ennis, will be leading out her country and also taking on Lolo Jones of the USA in the 60m hurdles.

Next month the Aviva Grand Prix is the third and final elite event from the indoor part of the 2010 Major Events Series. Renowned within the international athletics circuit for drawing in the best athletes across the globe, and drawing out the best athletics performances including world records, this event will keep you on the edge of your seat. Athletes including World Champion triple jumper Phillips Idowu are set to entertain the near 8,000 crowd. Spectators are also treated this year to an all time first, as UKA host a brand new exhibition event, in a man Vs machine spectacular.
