Spike To Run At Mascot Grand National

02 May 2012

UKA’s sports mad mascot Spike will be aiming to prove that he is the fastest mascot in the UK at the annual Mascot Grand National at Kempton Park on Monday 7th May, in aid of the Have a Heart Foundation.

The annual event attracts mascots from around the country and Spike is looking forward to testing himself against the best of the rest.

Speaking ahead of the event Spike said: "I have had a good indoor season, my fans loved me in Glasgow, Sheffield and Birmingham! I am hoping to set a PB for the race, but with the recent rain not sure conditions will help me! I’ve been inspired by the Aviva Sportshall Finals recently, so am keen to get running."

This year’s race is attempting to set a Guinness World Record, and will see over 100 mascots attend. For more information please visit: http://www.kempton.co.uk/Mascot-grand-national
