Sports Club Survey

Following on from the huge success of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Sport and Recreation Alliance wants to know how ready our sports clubs are to deliver a meaningful and lasting Olympic and Paralympic legacy.

At the end of 2012, the Alliance carried out an Olympic and Paralympic legacy snapshot survey. This survey revealed cause for optimism, but suggested that more could be done to help sports clubs drive up grassroots participation.

The Alliance’s biennial Sports Club Survey now aims to discover how sports clubs are faring in the community at the grassroots level in the afterglow of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The survey will look at issues such as the opportunities, barriers and challenges faced by sports clubs, the financial situation at sports clubs and what support and training could be offered by non-profit organisations.

Using this information, the Sport and Recreation Alliance and British Athletics will look to improve the environment at sports clubs and will continue to campaign to ensure that athletics gets the best deal possible.

You can answer the Sports Club Survey between April and June this year, and results will be revealed in October. For more information please visit: www.sportandrecreation.org.uk/policy/SSC
