That Paralympic Show

08 April 2011

The countdown to the London 2012 Paralympic Games continues this Saturday with the second series of That Paralympic Show on Channel 4.

The ten-part series – which contributes to the strongest pre-Paralympic Games broadcast coverage and marketing support it has ever received on UK television – kicked off on 2 April featuring Aviva GB&NI discus duo Dan Greaves (F44), the IPC World Champion, and Aled Davies (F42), runner up in the IPC World Championships in New Zealand.

World Record holder Greaves exceeded his previous global best by over three metres to defend his title and take gold in Christchurch, while double World Junior champion Davies, who originally won bronze in the F42 discus, has been promoted to the silver medal following the disqualification of South African Fanie Lombaard.

Following the competition in January 2011, the pair joined Iwan Thomas for a Lord of the Rings tour; you can still see the action on Channel 4 OD through the following link:

Aviva GB&NI athletes will feature throughout the series, as they did in series one of That Paralympic Show, with much of the filming done on location in New Zealand following an impressive team medal haul of 38.

The second programme in series two of That Paralympic Show is tomorrow, Saturday 9 April at 13.20.
