UK Athletics has appointed The Sports Consultancy as its exclusive rights representation agency of all sponsorship properties for the duration of the next Olympic cycle through to 2020.

The appointment covers all British Athletics’ events and team activities including the British Athletics event programme (the Anniversary Games, indoor and outdoor British Championships, UK staged Diamond Leagues and Indoor Grand Prix) and assisting UKA with the sale of both its own and IPC’s rights around the London 2017 Summer of Athletics and other International Championships.

The Sports Consultancy’s rights marketing team is led by Marc Hope, whose selling experience spans over 30 years achieving a string of record revenue breaking partnerships for World and European Athletics Championships, including the most recent editions of the World and European Indoor Championships staged in the UK, and other Olympics sports.

More recently Marc played a pivotal role marketing the rights for the 2014 Commonwealth Games as part of the team which secured 50 National and Global partners for the event.

Commenting on the appointment, UKA Chief Executive, Niels de Vos said: “We are very much looking forward to working with Marc and his team at The Sports Consultancy.  Their work has already led to the recent appointments of Muller and Strathmore as British Athletics partners and we are confident many more will follow.

“This is a hugely exciting time to be involved with British Athletics as we head toward a Summer of World Athletics in 2017, two back to back world championships that will showcase our athletes to the world.”

The Sports Consultancy, Director Rights Marketing, Marc Hope added:

“We are thrilled to be representing British Athletics at a time when we have such exciting, new talent coming through and we are hosting a number of world class athletics events. Having already secured Muller as title partner and Nissan as Official Car supplier to the Anniversary Games, as well as Strathmore as official water we are looking forward to securing many more sponsorship agreements.”
