‘The Summer Is Coming’ with a quartet of British international medallists confirmed today to compete at the Müller Anniversary Games in July.

World Indoor 60m hurdles champion Andrew Pozzi (coach: Benke Blomkvist), Commonwealth Games silver medallists Eilidh Doyle (Brian Doyle) and Morgan Lake (Fuzz Caan) as well as double Gold Coast medallist in the women’s T38 100m and long jump and world T38 long jump champion, Olivia Breen (Aston Moore), will all be in action at the London Stadium as part of a mouth-watering line-up of Diamond League and para athletics disciplines across the two days.

Pozzi last competed in the 110m hurdles at the Anniversary Games in 2016, recording a swift season’s best 13.19 in his heat.

Having already achieved the qualifying standard for the European Championships with one of the ten fastest times in 2018, he is relishing the chance to be back amongst a strong field in London.

He said: “The Müller Anniversary Games is always the highlight of the outdoor season, and for a British athlete there really is no better feeling that being introduced to a home crowd, especially when it’s at the London Stadium.

“It’s a meeting that brought the best out of me back in 2016, and I’ll be going in looking to win this time around at what I’m sure will be a weekend of incredible and world class athletics.”

World Champion Breen has fond memories of competing in London having taken gold in the T38 long jump at the World Para Athletics Championships last year and is excited to be a part of the action in London once again.

She added: “I’m getting back in the zone now for the Anniversary Games. Going back to the stadium is going to be so good, both for watching the action and competing. To have the home crowd will be so nice and to have everyone there is great.

“It brings back a lot of memories for me as I competed there in 2012, and last year winning the World Championships was just amazing. I’m really excited to get back in the stadium.”

Defending British 400m hurdles champion Doyle will contest her third Anniversary Games and the competition has become a staple event in her schedule.

Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow’s Lake feels like the London Stadium is “home” for her and has several special memories of competing there.

Cherry Alexander, Major Events director for UK Athletics added:

“Andy, Eilidh, Olivia and Morgan have all enjoyed incredible seasons so far, capturing prestigious international medals, and we are delighted to add all four athletes to the line-up as we continue to lay the foundations for another world-class staging of the Müller Anniversary Games.”
