UKA will provide young British athletes targeting U18 international competition with opportunities to qualify at domestic meetings in the early 2011 season.

With British competitive age groups set at U17 and U20, UKA will provide U18 qualification opportunities at Loughborough Open/ BUCS trials on 23 April, Milton Keynes PB Classic on 21 May, Loughborough International U20 on 22 May and England Senior/U20 Combined Events Championships on 4-5 June.

The domestic competitions are notably for hurdles, throws, combined events or steeplechase athletes – disciplines in which distances and equipment heights and weights differ for U18 competition compared to U17 and U20 in the UK.

UKA would encourage athletes looking to gain selection, in these disciplines, to the international competition teams to enter one of these competitions. Team staff will be present at these events to talk with athletes, coaches and parents.
