As tomorrow marks the start of the Müller British Athletics Championships in Manchester, UK Athletics wishes to acknowledge the ongoing efforts of competition leads, competition organisers, officials and volunteers at the Home Country Athletic Federations for delivering domestic track and field and road racing competition within Government guidance to athletes across the UK.

During these unprecedented times the sport must be delivered differently to meet the requirements set out by the respective Governments and those involved have worked extremely hard to ensure our sport remains compliant and is delivered in a safe way with exemplary standards and appropriate behaviours from all parties at all times.

The sport has come a long way in a short time to re-establish athletics events and UK Athletics will continue to work with the HCAFs and competition organisers to provide the best possible competition for athletes through the licensing process, working within the parameters permitted.
