UK Athletics Statement

18 July 2008

Following the failure of British sprinter Dwain Chambers to secure an injunction against the British Olympic Association by-law banning him from competing at the Olympic Games, UK Athletics have issued the following statement:

“We have always maintained our support of the bye-law and are delighted it has been upheld in this instance. We now consider the issue closed and look forward to Beijing and must all turn our focus to our final preparations with the athletes who will represent Great Britain. “

The final selections for the British team will take place on Saturday 19 July.
