UK ATHLETICS TAKES PART IN NATIONAL INCLUSION WEEK

NIW

28 September 2020

UK Athletics are delighted to once again be taking part in National Inclusion Week 2020, running from 28 September – 4October 2020.

The week was created by ‘Inclusive Employers’ and aims to raise awareness of inclusion in the workplace. Now in its eighth year, the 2020 theme for National Inclusion Week is Each One Reach One. It is about bringing people and organisations together to connect and inspire each other to make inclusion an everyday reality. Together, we will build the biggest inclusion chain ever.

Among the activities UK Athletics has planned for National Inclusion Week are two internal Q&A sessions. One with the CEO, Joanna Coates, and CFO, Mark Draisey, about what inclusions means to them and discussing the themes around ‘Each One Reach One’.

There will also be an opportunity later in the week to hear from female leaders in the sport in a Q&A hosted by Donna Fraser.

Fraser, the Equality, Diversity & Engagement Lead at UK Athletics, said:

“We are proud to be supporting National Inclusion Week once again. As an organisation, we are committed to building and maintaining an inclusive workplace for our employees, so we are pleased to be showcasing the work we have made in our inclusion journey to date.

“Working with our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advocates, not only have we created a week-long timetable of events for our employees, but we are encouraging a wider conversation about inclusion at our workplace. We are challenging everyone to think about what inclusion means to them, so we are looking forward to a thought-provoking week.”
