UK Coaching Strategy - Coaching Survey

As part of our ongoing work to better understand, value and support coaches across the UK athletics community, UK Athletics and the Home Country Athletics Federations are in the process of developing a new coaching strategy. As part of that process we are very keen to hear the views and opinions of coaches. An email with this information has been sent to licensed coaches, but for those who did not receive the information, the link to the survey can be found here.

We want to understand;

  • What are the key characteristics of coaches across the UK?
  • What are the key issues we need to address?
  • What support do you require as coaches?
  • What is your opinion on the how we move coaching development forward over the next 10 years.

The feedback provided will be analysed to understand the needs of the coaching community in athletics, and this information will be used to inform the future strategy for the development of coaching. Your views are valuable to us and will guide us in prioritising the key issues facing coaches across the sport. These issues will be explored further in more detail through focus groups which will be convened following the coaching survey, and a report covering the survey and focus groups findings will also be produced.

If you would like to be considered for a further discussion through a focus group please complete your personal details once submitted. Please be aware that depending on the volume of coaches who submit their details, it may not be possible for every coach to be part of a focus group.

The survey is open until the 28th April and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. There is also be a draw to won one of two coaching grants of £350 as a thank-you to coaches taking the time to complete the survey.
