UKA ATHLETES' COMMISSION APPOINTS SEVEN MEMBERS

Following the appointment process, seven athletes join the UK Athletics Athletes Commission for a two-year term.

The successfully appointed candidates will join the current members; Hannah England (Chair), John Pares (Vice-Chair), Richard Yates (Vice-Chair), Abdul Buhari and Vanessa Wallace. The Commission abide by the principle of striving to promote a healthy and productive relationship between the athletes the Commission represent, and the National Governing Body.

The athletes who will join the Commission are:

  • Holly Bradshaw (pole vault)
  • Ashley Bryant (decathlon)
  • Dan Greaves (F44 discus)
  • Andy Heyes (3000m and cross country)
  • Stephen Miller (F32 Club Throw)
  • Naomi Ogbeta (triple jump)
  • Richard Whitehead (T61 100m and 200m)

Each member will be invited to stand for an initial two-year term of office.

Hannah England, Chair of the UK Athletics Athletes’ Commission commented on the election results:

“We are delighted to welcome the new members on to the UKA Athlete’s Commission. They bring with them a wealth of international experience and a broad perspective that will help us effectively represent our internationally competing athletes.

“We had 16 fantastic candidates for these positions, and we would like to thank all those that nominated themselves and those who took the opportunity to vote.

“We would also like to thank Robbie Britton, Tom Bosworth, Jamie Bowie, Dai Greene, and Goldie Sayers for their contributions over the last two years.”
