UKA Statement: Bruce Tulloh

Staff and colleagues at UK Athletics have been deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Bruce Tulloh aged 82.

Tulloh enjoyed a long career with athletics on and off the track, running for Portsmouth AC and representing Great Britain at the Rome 1960 Olympic Games.

He also set a new record for a coast to coast crossing of the USA, covering the 2,876 miles from Los Angeles to New York in less than 65 days.

Tulloh wrote a book of his attempt, one of many published titles, and coached several British athletes including Richard Nerurkar, who won the World Marathon Cup in 1993.

The thoughts of everyone at UK Athletics are with Bruce’s family at this very sad time.
