Ukmc Celtic Nations Track And Field Representative Elections Update

10 May 2016

Two nominations for the post of Celtic Nations Track and Field Representative on the UK Member’s Council (UKMC) were received ahead of last week’s deadline of 29 April via Athletics Northern Ireland and Welsh Athletics.

The role will help bring the perspectives of Clubs in the Celtic Countries to the UK Members Council in order to contribute to the planning and review of the UKA Strategic Plan and to help ensure the successful outcomes of the strategic objectives.

The nominations were:

  • Anthony Clements – nominated by Swansea Harriers and seconded by Neath Harriers AC
  • John Glover – nominated by North Down AC and seconded by Lagan Valley AC

The candidates nominated will now take part in an interview process with the appointment to be confirmed by the end of May.

UKMC President Jason Gardener said: “The two individuals nominated are lifelong servants of the sport with vast experience that would hugely benefit the UK Members Council and we look forward to seeing what they can bring to this forum.

“Whoever is selected will be a valuable addition and we look forward to welcoming the new member later this month.”
