UKA can confirm that following a tender process, the University of Gloucestershire has been commissioned to lead and carry out a consultation with transgender athletes and advocacy groups to determine how the sport of athletics can be as inclusive and welcoming as possible.

Following UK Athletics’ principle statement on Transgender Eligibility in Athletics in the United Kingdom in March 2023, UKA began the tender process for an academic institution to lead on this consultation.

The University of Gloucestershire’s written report will be delivered to UKA with executive summary and recommendations based on the consultation data and analysis of findings. This will also be considered during the creation of UKA’s Transgender Policy.
