Following the closing date for both the survey and written submissions at the end of January we are pleased to confirm significant engagement with the consultation process.

More than 10,000 submissions have been received in response with a large proportion of them offering mainly qualitative input for consideration ahead of the next stages. These submissions  – expressing all sides of the debate – have been detailed, passionate, thought-provoking, and knowledgeable. They will take time to properly review in a way that guides the next stages involving webinars and focus groups.

In light of the requirement to ensure that the analysis is full and robust, we have taken the decision to push the timescales for the next stages back to allow for this work to be carried out properly. It is right that we do not rush this process and we will confirm adjusted timelines when submissions are properly reviewed.
