VIRTUAL UPDATE SESSIONS TO ENGAGE WITH UK-WIDE COACHING STRATEGY

Following the launch yesterday of the UK-wide Coaching Strategy for the sport of athletics in the UK, the virtual update sessions are available for people to sign up to via the athletics hub.

The formation of the strategy – a significant milestone – has been led by UK Athletics’ Director of Development Mark Munro and new Head of Coach Development Jackie Newton, along with the respective HCAF coaching leads and follows a period of listening to the coaching community and detailed consultation across the sport.

Now the commitment to ongoing communication commences with these updates scheduled on the evenings of 3rd, 8th, 10th and 12th November, Coaches can sign up to attend via this link.

Jackie Newton said: “We’re looking forward to hosting these virtual updates. The first four will include a summary of the strategy and key priorities before we take questions. Members of the coaching working group will be in attendance and this is a great opportunity to talk in more detail about the strategy and outline our early targets.

“These are just the first four sessions. We will ensure we have multiple forums throughout the year for updating coaches and athletes as we work towards the targets we have identified. We want all coaches to know they have clear channels to communicate with us and we will start as we mean to go on.”
